LEAP Africa is a youth-focused non-profit leadership development organization that is raising leaders to transform Africa.
In the last four years LEAP has expanded its programmatic and advocacy efforts to equip young change-makers, and make education work for young people (specifically secondary education) -equipping them with skills to excel in school, be meaningfully engaged post-secondary school (tertiary education or employment), and be globally competitive, and building the capacity of teachers and school administrators to initiate positive change in their schools.

Participant: Femi Taiwo – Executive Director
Femi Taiwo serves as the Executive Director of LEAP Africa- a leading youth-focused leadership development organisation. Prior to this position at LEAP, Femi was the founding Executive Director of Eagles HOPE Foundation, a non-profit initiated by the Covenant University Alumni Association. There, he led the organisation to create and execute award-winning youth programmes that reached over 12,000 youth in major cities in Nigeria over a five-year period.
Femi advises several youth-focused social organisations across Africa and beyond. He also speaks internationally on themes relating to education and skills, social entrepreneurship, the SDGs, and transformative leadership. He has provided technical support to initiatives led by a number of organisations including the African Union, MasterCard Foundation, British Council, and Ford Foundation.
He is a 2018 Aspen Institute IdeasFest Scholar and is part of the inaugural class of the Obama Africa Leaders Programme. He seats on the Board of Global Compact Network Nigeria (the local arm of United Nations Global Compact) among others.
Femi holds a MSc. in Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship from Manchester Business School, where he focused his research on Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Covenant University.
